Dear customers, dear partners,
it may sound strange, but we could well live with you only skimming this newsletter. After all, it would be a sign that your business is finally humming again, so that you hardly find time for anything other than fulfilling your customers’ travel wishes. Chances are good that this is the case: the Europe-wide decline in Corona incidences, the normalization of travel and, of course, the summer vacations!
Of course, an indepth look into this newsletter is still worthwhile – so you will find out what news we have implemented for you in DaVinci versions 1091 and 1092 and that LuxairTours now packages dynamically with the help of BEWOTEC software solutions. We wish you an interesting reading and further continuously increasing booking figures!

The „Best of“ of the actual DaVinci Releases 1091/1092
Creating sales documents after VERK mode has been disabled
Amadeus Germany’s decision to shut down the VERK mode at very short notice created practical problems for numerous travel companies. Together with DaVinci users affected, we quickly implemented a solution to maintain the established billing processes. Our new developments for processing air and rail tickets in DaVinci allow all relevant information to be transferred to the accounting systems without any additional adaptation effort:
- For flights, the CRS import has been extended: The import of price- and accounting information is now possible in the ticket dialogue. Billing-relevant A.I.R files can be linked directly to the corresponding transaction and processed further.
- The export of SIR data records is possible for flight tickets as well as for train and cruise tickets. Of course, tickets can also be added and edited manually.
Better cost transparency through allocation of purchase costs
Transparency in the cost structure plays an essential role in times of crisis. For tour operators, the focus is particularly on charter purchase costs (but also costs for tour guides), which in accordance with customer requirements can now be allocated in DaVinci to all associated bookings. The resulting contribution margins can be monitored in the MIS with data from the day before.
For this purpose, BEWOTEC has extended the capturing of purchase contracts so that the costs to be allocated can be captured with individually assigned booking codes either per equipment (e.g. charter aircraft or bus) or per trip.
In the MIS cubes, the booking codes make it possible to link the sales prices with the associated direct purchasing costs and the imputed apportionment costs. Thus, TARGET and ACTUAL values can be compared and the contribution margins can be shown. For even more transparency, the evaluation is possible on service, package or destination level.

Value date for SEPA debit collection
In order for tour operators to obtain their money more quickly in the future, we are planning to standardize the value date for SEPA direct debit for all transaction types. So far, the value date for the collection is defined as follows:
- Core: 7 days
- Core – Recurr: 4 days
- B2B: 3 days
This value date is now to be standardized and shortened to 2 days for all transactions. Thus, the tour operator can already collect the money from the customer’s account two banking days after the actual due date.
Now your feedback is helpful to us: please let your BEWOTEC contact person know if this new 2-day value date period potentially creates conflicts with your business practices.

Luxair launches dynamic production via flexStore
Spurred by the revival of vacation travel, Luxair is anticipating a vibrant demand for air travel from Luxembourg also with near-time and flexible departures – the classic in dynamic production. Just in time for the start of the summer season, Luxair together with BEWOTEC under the label “Holidays á la Carte” now offers dynamically generated packages of its own scheduled flights and hotel services on its tour operator website. Almost all systems from the BEWOTEC product family work together for the Luxair solution: flexStore and OTDS-Player for product creation and search as well as DaVinci and flexHubs for the reservation process and travel management.
Especially for this purpose, Luxair’s Amadeus inventory system was integrated as a new flight provider behind the flexFlight service. The available flight offers from Luxair as well as the accommodations from the flexHotel pool are loaded on the LuxairTours website via the OTDS-Player.
Once the booking has been submitted in DaVinci, all further processes are triggered automatically: creation and dispatch of the confirmation, transfer of the billing information to SAP, and provision of the booking data in the data warehouse.
Luxair has already been working with BEWOTEC’s OTDS-Player for several years. Until now, only the pre-packaged offers from the legacy reservation system were brought to sales there. With the step into full dynamic production, the entire value chain is now covered by BEWOTEC solutions and a direct integration of the airline with the Holiday product is guaranteed.
