Tour Operator Software News – September 2025

Dear customers, dear partners,

this DaVinci newsletter comes hot off the press to your mailbox with quite some volume. We have separated its publication somewhat from the DaVinci release cycles, because we have added so many new features to all our solutions – especially to DaVinci NT.

For the sake of formality, however: since the last edition of this newsletter, we do have released DaVinci versions 1101 through 1103, which we hope you are already working with successfully. Now we don’t want to keep you from reading any longer, because as we said: there are plenty of news!

Enjoy reading!
Best regards,

Michael Becher

From vision to new standard application: DaVinci NT

Our tour operator software “DaVinci New Technology” (or DaVinci NT) is taking over more and more functions from DaVinci – even better yet, more comprehensively, and more innovatively. Our goal is to use the cloud-based “Software as a Service” DaVinci NT to dissolve the boundaries between classical and dynamic production and to restructure relevant processes in travel production in a new and consistent way.

In this section, we would like to share with you which functions we have newly implemented in DaVinci NT.

DaVinci NT takes off – with comprehensive flight functionalities

We are – to stay in jargon – in take-off mode: DaVinci NT now supports extensive flight functionalities and demonstrates the many innovations incorporated into our new tour operator software.

Flights can now be fully created and managed via the intuitive user interface in DaVinci NT. This includes all relevant information such as airline, operating carrier, flight times, and of course prices, allotments, and special offers, for example for groups.

A unique feature of DaVinci NT is that booking restrictions allow for precise flight management. For instance, it can be defined that a specific outbound flight can only be combined with a specific return flight (airline or flight number).

DaVinci and DaVinci NT work hand in hand: a corresponding booking code shell in DaVinci interacts directly with the flight service in DaVinci NT and automatically transfers all relevant data when a booking is made.

Even if specific flight schedules and purchases are not yet available, tour operators can already sell “virtual flights” in DaVinci NT, provided that all master data has been created. Once the actual flights become available, the virtual flights can be easily assigned – including automatic rebooking of all affected transactions.

Additional features include individual price entries and enhanced group booking functionalities. We also are already working on further innovative features related to flights in DaVinci NT, such as multi-leg flight mapping, integration of extensive fare information, and the option of seat reservations.

So fasten your seatbelts – we look forward to taking off together with you.

With Pluto, a new era of cruise booking begins – now live in myJACK pilot travel agencies

We are quite proud to now offer cruise lines and tour operators Pluto, a state-of-the-art B2B sales tool that brings together consulting and booking on a smart interface.

Whether in the service center or in brick-and-mortar travel agencies – Pluto supports travel agents in providing targeted advice, completing bookings directly, and editing them if necessary. Fourteen agencies working with BEWOTEC’s myJACK 360° solution for travel agencies have been piloting Pluto since July 1 with the launching content partner TUI Cruises – and are thoroughly enthusiastic.

What can Pluto do? Pretty much everything.
The browser-based application, launched directly from the travel agency frontend, covers the entire sales process: from the cruise search to selection of cabin, flight, rail, or additional services, right through to booking. In the current pilot project, Pluto has access to live data from TUI Cruises via the OTDS player – prices, availability, and content correspond 1:1 to the company’s website and are therefore always up to date and complete.

Info buttons provide context-based additional information – graphically presented and comparable, e.g. for insurance services or cabin categories. Convenience features such as deck plans, flight time overviews, or add-ons like VIP services or baby cots make the trip individually configurable.

Shopping cart, booking, and post-booking – all in one tool
A dynamic shopping cart accompanies the entire booking process, providing clarity and collecting selected services. At final booking, vouchers or marketing campaigns can be easily applied. Booking data is transferred to the myJACK back office in the pilot project, but in principle also to any back office systems used by the point-of-sales. Offers and/or booking information can be provided to the traveler via a personal offer website. Even after booking, Pluto convinces with well-designed user guidance: booking data can be changed or canceled, documents sent, and services added.

Provider-focused instead of comparison tool
Pluto is set up in a tenant concept: only the offers of a single provider are bookable per tenant – currently the cruises and additional services of TUI Cruises. Pluto is not a comparison system; further providers, also from other travel sectors (e.g. package tours), will gradually be set up as separate tenants.

Who uses Pluto for searching and booking?
Thanks to flexible integration via interface, Pluto can be easily integrated into IT distribution platforms of travel agencies as well as service center environments – as a future-proof solution for digital travel consultation and effective sales of complete trips.

Get back to us – we look forward to your interest in using Pluto as a sales channel.

One dataset for everything: the Super PNR connects booking sources

As early as in the concept phase of DaVinci NT, the Super PNR, which we understand as an overarching Passenger Name Record, was an essential component and important differentiator.

The Super PNR is now available with its first functions in DaVinci NT – we have implemented a central, expandable platform for cross-system booking data management. External systems can access it via a public API, search for transactions, and retrieve detailed information. Existing transactions can be modified by external partners via the DaVinci NT API, particularly to add their own services.

Changes to the Super PNR (extensions, status changes, rebookings, cancellations) are pushed to registered consumers in near real-time after being saved. As with all DaVinci NT services, secure authentication of all accesses and encryption of all messages take place.

Practical applications for the Super PNR include additional services purchased on board a cruise ship, agency settlements, or invoice printing for consolidated services from different providers. In the future, the Super PNR will use the standardized data structure STRING as the uniform format for booking responses, providing a consistent basis for all external processes.

News on DaVinci and Dynamic Production

Facelift for the DaVinci Interface

You have surely noticed it already: DaVinci presents itself with a new, fresher design. The redesign of the interface is based on the look and feel of common Office versions and Windows 11, so users should quickly feel comfortable with it.

We have not fundamentally changed user guidance, only the shortcut buttons for the catalog, Genesis, booking code, and customer search have now moved to the top right.

This also corresponds to the design of common current Microsoft products. We hope you like the facelift as much as we do and wish you a fresh and productive work experience!

New Providers for Dynamic Packaging with BEWOTEC

Travelpartner in flexHotel
Travelpartner, headquartered in Ellmau, Austria, offers an extensive portfolio of accommodations and additional services in the Alpine region and Central Europe: Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Hungary, and Slovenia.

The range extends from cozy guesthouses and modern apartments to luxurious five-star hotels, which tour operators can now integrate into their dynamically packaged travel offers via BEWOTEC flexHotel.

Mayfair Jets in flexflight
The relatively young airline Mayfair Jets, founded in Dubai in February 2020, has established itself particularly as a provider of flights to Egypt, Turkey, and Greece.

Via flexFlight tour operators can now dynamically package Mayfair Jets’ flights into their individual travel offers.

RUNA REISEN enables online booking of accessible travel with technology from BEWOTEC and freshcells

RUNA REISEN, a leading specialized tour operator for people with disabilities and particularly wheelchair users, has equipped its website with innovative booking functionalities in close cooperation with freshcells systems engineering and BEWOTEC. Freshcells provided the frontend technology and a modern, functional design, BEWOTEC the backend: RUNA recently switched to DaVinci, where the wheelchair-friendly travel offers are produced and all booking processes are managed.

Information about the accessible facilities of hotels or vacation rentals is stored in the DaVinci system and, after queries to the OTDS player, filters the results on the new RUNA website. Dynamic flight options have also been integrated, enabling the display of flight connections with their real-time prices as well as possible flight alternatives for the selected travel dates.
