Dear customers, dear partners,
Summer slump? Not with us! Within the travel industry summer slumps have always been more of a myth – but the insolvency of FTI, with its difficult consequences for customers, employees and service providers, has thrown the start of summer into disarray even more.
FTI’s involuntary exit has also changed the summer routine at BEWOTEC and increased our workload. Nevertheless, we are right on schedule with the update of our DaVinci software to the anniversary version 1100 and are now proudly looking forward to rolling out this milestone to you. We cordially invite you to visit our anniversary website, discover entertaining details about our software and our teams and, with a little luck, win an Apple iPad 10.
As usual, below are the highlights from the most recent version DaVinci 1100, the latest developments in DaVinci NT and our solutions for dynamic production.

News about DaVinci and Dynamic Production
Anniversary Raffle DaVinci 1100
With DaVinci version 1100, we are celebrating a special anniversary: it is a product of 99 software releases, more than a thousand dedicated users, 100+ clever minds at BEWOTEC, 75,015 liters of cola, 7 million lines of code and other myths.
The fact that DaVinci is one of the leading tour operator systems in Europe today is largely thanks to its users, who work with DaVinci every day: Without their input and feedback, our software would not have developed so dynamically.
We want to thank you for the great, often long-term collaboration and are giving away an Apple iPad 10 to visitors of our anniversary website. Be a part of it: scroll through our interesting and entertaining articles and secure your chance to win the iPad:
Smart control options in the Room Number Module
The Room Number Module is a helpful tool for tour operators with dedicated room allotments to manage occupancy. At the same time it offers their customers the added value of a room reserved specifically for them.
As of DaVinci 1100, the tool offers new, flexible control options. Rules for the bookability of specific rooms can be stored for the hotel properties created in the module. For example, a specific period for an occupancy limit can be defined according to different occupancy options. Non-permitted (under)occupancy can be prevented by activating the new convenience function.
Newly implemented subcodes, which are always stated in the context of a booking code, can be used to define which limits apply. For example, a subcode can ensure that a specified number of rooms in a certain room category can only be booked with a Saturday arrival.
If a booking is within the permitted limit, the next free room number is automatically assigned. Booking attempts outside the limit result in an error message. In principle, bookings with room numbers are possible in myJACK, Amadeus Tour Market and CETS.
EUROTOURS in flexHotel now also bookable via API interface
Vacations in the mountains are becoming increasingly popular. When it comes to accommodation in the most beautiful destinations in Austria and its neighboring countries, EUROTOURS is one of the most important DMC partners. With more than 2,500 hotel partners, the company has long been one of the Destination Management Centers connected to BEWOTEC flexHotel.
In view of the relevance of the accommodation portfolio, we at BEWOTEC are happy to support the recent conversion of the IT systems at EUROTOURS. The necessary adjustments have now been completed: In addition to the existing interface, flexHotel now also supports the new API interface, which is already being used productively by the first users. A special feature of the development was the fact that parts of the current season are still being managed on the old system. Our solution therefore supports both approaches in mixed operation.
Digitalization meets Accounting: E-Invoice is coming
With the Growth Opportunities Act, e-invoicing will be mandatory for domestic B2B sales from January 1, 2025 – including for the travel industry. Although some regulations from the Federal Ministry of Finance are still pending, it is important to prepare IT systems and internal processes for e-invoicing in good time.
In future, companies in B2B business transactions must be able to receive, process and archive e-invoices. This brings many advantages: The legally prescribed digitization impulse makes invoice processes faster, legally compliant and less prone to errors, combats VAT fraud and reduces administrative costs for all business partners.
BEWOTEC’s working group for e-invoices in DaVinci is already deep into the topic: the concept for DaVinci’s backend is in place for how e-invoices can be read and issued on time in the two officially supported formats XRechnung and ZUGFeRD.
Importing account statements in CAMT.8 format
With the upgrade to the CAMT.8 format for DaVinci Accounting, detailed information on incoming payments and account statement items – especially in the context of SEPA credit transfers and direct debits – can now be obtained very easily and processed automatically.
Pleased to meet you:
the new members of the DaVinci-Team
We have successfully reinforced our team and gathered new skills! These new colleagues have joined us for translating your requirements into software solutions and provide you with consulting services:
Artur Belazovschii
Artur Belazovschii is an experienced computer scientist who specialized in complex software systems. This and his wide-ranging experience make him ideally qualified to further expand the backend of DaVinci NT.
With BEWOTEC since July 1
Fun Facts: Artur is passionate about drawing with pencil and charcoal. He loves bringing details and shadows to life on paper. Unfortunately, his turbulent everyday life doesn’t give him much opportunity to pursue his creative hobby at the moment.
Arianit Elshani
We are pleased to have recruited Arianit Elshani with his creative potential for BEWOTEC. As a front-end developer, Arianit designs and optimizes the aesthetic and functional aspects of Da Vinci NT – always with the aim of creating the best possible user experience.
With BEWOTEC since September 1st
Fun Facts: Arianit enjoys meeting new people and loves playing volleyball in his spare time. As a team player, teamwork is very important to him – just like in his work in software development, which also inspires him and spurs him on to top performance.
From Vision to New Standard Applications –
Sneak-Preview DaVinci NT
Our new tour operator software “DaVinci New Technology” has left the visionary stage in many areas and, as a cloud-based “Software as a Service”, delivers solutions for the requirements of our pilot customers that are as powerful as they are user-friendly. Our aspiration is to have DaVinci NT eliminate the boundaries between classic and dynamic production and to redesign the relevant processes in travel production in a new and stringent way.
At irregular intervals, we would like to share with you here what is happening around DaVinci NT.
STRING 5 – the booking format now enables rebookings
With the upgrade to the new STRING version 5, BEWOTEC is successfully continuing on its path to establishing this promising booking and reservation format in the German market.
STRING was launched in 2019 by a joint working group of the German Travel Association (DRV), Amadeus and BEWOTEC. A lot has happened since then: A particular milestone in STRING 5 is the new rebooking mechanism, which is already fully supported by our GenVAS booking service.
Our new PLUTO consulting frontend is also already working with STRING 5 and its wide range of options for cruise services. XMLteam, an important sales partner for the entire cruise industry, also relies on STRING 5. This means that not only the shipping companies but also their passengers benefit from the advantages of the format.
For BEWOTEC, STRING is the modern standard booking and reservation format for DaVinci NT, which will gradually replace the previous TOMA/STADIS construct.
